Supportive family at a medical appointment
For Families

Something changed
after the accident.
You're not imagining it.

When your loved one isn't the same after an auto accident — and no one seems to be connecting the dots — CBI Care Network can help you get them to the right specialist. You can even start the process on their behalf.

Signs to watch for
Changes that may appear days or weeks after an accident:
They seem foggy or slower to respond
Personality or mood has shifted
Sleep patterns are disrupted
They're struggling at work or school
Frequent headaches or sensitivity to light
Balance issues or dizziness
"I just don't feel like myself"
These symptoms can follow a concussion or mild TBI — and the ER rarely has the tools to identify them.
What you're going through

You see what the doctors
aren't seeing.
Trust that.

They came home from the hospital and the doctors said they were fine. But in the days and weeks that followed, you started noticing things. The way they lose track of conversations. The irritability. The headaches.

“You know this person. The doctors saw them once. You see them every day. Your instinct matters.”

The absence of a finding on a CT scan is not the same as the absence of an injury. Families understand this intuitively.

You feel helpless watching them struggle
You want to fix this. The uncertainty — not knowing if this is permanent, if it's getting worse — is exhausting.
The system isn't connecting the dots
Everyone has seen part of the picture. But nobody seems to be looking at the whole person.
You sense that time matters — you’re right
Research shows unscreened TBI increases stroke risk up to 10× in the first 3 months. Early identification improves outcomes and protects their health. If there’s a legal case, the documentation window matters too.
You don't know where to start
Which kind of doctor? What kind of testing? The referral network for TBI is fragmented. That's exactly what CBI is built for.
How CBI can help

We find the right
quarterback specialist.
One call does it.

CBI Care Network maintains a vetted network of independent quarterback TBI specialists across California. When you call us, we listen to what you're observing and match your loved one with the right specialist for their situation.

The quarterback takes it from there — concussion screening, neurocognitive evaluation, and follow-on care as indicated. CBI's role is the match. The specialist's role is everything after.

Answers, a plan, and documentation

A real diagnosis, a treatment plan, and clinical documentation. If there's a case, their attorney receives the records. You finally have something solid to work with.

A word about cost

We know cost is one more worry on a list that's already too long. You shouldn't have to choose between getting answers and affording them. Here's how it actually works:

CBI's matching service is
free for qualified patients.

CBI does not charge for connecting your loved one with a specialist. Once matched, the quarterback specialist's coordination with other providers may be billed as a professional service. Medical evaluation fees are handled between your loved one and their specialist, with multiple payment options available.

What to expect from the specialist on billing

Qualified patients may be seen on a medical lien basis. Specialists also accept PPO health insurance, HSA/FSA accounts, payment plans, and direct payment. Not everyone qualifies for lien-based billing — call us to discuss your loved one's options.

What changes

What getting the right
evaluation actually means
for your family.

You finally have answers
A real diagnosis. Not "give it time." Your loved one's symptoms have a clinical explanation.
They have a path to recovery
Proper treatment for post-concussion syndrome can significantly improve outcomes.
Their case is documented
The clinical record from a proper evaluation is exactly what their attorney needs.
Your family gets some relief
A proper evaluation and a clear plan gives everyone something solid to move toward.

“My son was in an accident and the ER said he was fine. But he wasn't fine. I called CBI because I didn't know what else to do. They matched us with a specialist within days. For the first time, someone actually evaluated him properly. It wasn't in his head. It was real. And now we have a plan.”
